Biography
Lulu Pix is a full-service, boutique production company that partners with the best independent artists and technicians in pre-production, production and post-production. All requests will be considered, and if we cannot accommodate your needs, we will recommend someone who can.
Founded in 2011 by Laura Black who has produced, written & directed a myriad of short films, many receiving “Best of Fest” including THE RULES – screened at festivals around the world and currently available on major platforms internationally, THE NELLIE OLESONS – winner of the audience award at OutFest among a number of other titles.
Black’s first feature – THE COVID CHRONICLES was shot during the COVID lockdown and has been seen on the festival circuit as well.
Black has written screenplays, plays, and television films and pilots of various genres and has award-winning web series on multiple platforms including AGNES & ESTELLE – named “Best Web Series,” “Best Comedy,” and “Best Pilot,” to name a few. Black’s professional career includes VP of Development, Script Doctor and Consultant, Post Production Supervisor, and Assistant Producer on films and television shows for networks and studios such as NBC, CBS, TriStar, Disney, and Focus Features.
Some of the talented folks Black has directed include Meeghan Holaway (SWITCHED ATBIRTH, HOLIDATE, ABOUT FATE), Emmy® winner Maile Flanagan (JAKERS! THE ADVENTURES OF PIGGLY WINKS, LAB RATS, NOT DEAD YET) and Brian Dietzen (NCIS).
Black is a graduate of USC Film School and makes her home in Los Angeles.
